【主讲人简介】

 

   安德鲁·谢弗（Andrew Schaefer)教授现在是莱斯大学(Rice University)计算和应用数学系教授。在2015年加入莱斯大学之前，他在匹兹堡大学工业工程系担任教授，获得过工业和系统工程协会（IISE）杰出青年工业工程教育奖和美国国家科学基金会（NSF）终身成就奖，研究方向是广泛的运筹学和工业工程，包括混合整数规划，随机规划和大规模优化。他目前是Operations Research、Management Science、IISE Transactions等运营管理领域顶级期刊的副主编，INFORMS Journal on Computing和Production and Operations Management的资深编辑。同时他还是美国器官移植咨询委员会的成员。

 

  "Professor Andrew Schaefer is Noah Harding Chair and Professor of Computational and Applied Mathematics at Rice University. Prior to joining Rice in 2015, he was John A. Swanson Chair in Engineering and William Kepler Whiteford Professor of Industrial Engineering at University of Pittsburgh. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Industrial Engineering Education Award from the IISE society and the NSF CAREER Award. His research interests are in the broad area of operations research and industrial engineering, which includes mixed-integer programming, stochastic optimization and large-scale optimization. He is currently the associate editor of Operations Research, Management Science, IISE Transactions, INFORMS Journal on Computing and senior editor of Production and Operations Management. He is also a member of United States Advisory Committee on Organ Transplantation"

 "In this talk, I will discuss the history and impact of Operations Research on healthcare industry, including hospital operations, treatment models and healthcare policy. I will present the state of the art and discuss what makes healthcare OR different from traditional OR. Finally, I will talk about future directions."
